Start with the maximum rebar diameter and steel grade you need to cut. Then consider power source, portability, cutting speed, tool weight and the frequency of use. Professional applications should always leave sufficient capacity for the required rebar size and material strength.

An electro-hydraulic tool uses an electric motor to drive a hydraulic system. Hydraulic pressure then provides the force required for cutting, bending or punching. This design combines high working force with relatively compact and portable equipment.

Cordless tools provide greater mobility for construction sites and locations without convenient power access. Corded tools are well suited to continuous operation where a stable power supply is available. The best choice depends on workload, mobility requirements and operating environment.

Keep the cutter clean, inspect the blades regularly, check fasteners and moving parts, and monitor the hydraulic system for leaks or abnormal pressure. Hydraulic oil and wear components should be serviced according to the tool manual and actual operating conditions.

Cutting capacity depends on both bar diameter and material strength. A machine that can cut a certain diameter of standard reinforcing steel may have a lower capacity when cutting higher-strength steel. Always confirm the manufacturer's specified capacity.
